MERCEDES-BENZ

CAMPAIGN, CONCEPT & PRODUCTION
Since its market launch in 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has ranked among the world’s most iconic off-road vehicles. Originally developed as a robust all-terrain vehicle, the model has evolved over the decades from a purely functional utility vehicle into a luxury and lifestyle icon with cult status. The new brand film “The G-Class: One Love. Endless Adventures” now captures this fascination across generations.
For the 112-second film, Berlin-based production company Black Corridor deliberately takes a cinematic storytelling approach. Rather than placing the vehicle’s technology at the center through extensive off-road sequences, the film focuses on personal memories and the emotional connection between different owners and the G-Class. The narrative framework is built around a father explaining to his daughter why this particular vehicle has accompanied him for decades.
According to Black Corridor, the production was created in collaboration with the participating agency OSK Kommunikation within just a few weeks. Director Nikolas Meyberg and producer Hannes Höhn jointly developed the idea, concept, and execution. Filming took place over three days in Berlin and Brandenburg.
The vehicles featured include a Mercedes-Benz G 450 d, the fully electric G 580, and a W463 Civil Cabrio 300 GD. The footage is complemented by historical archive material from various generations of the G-Class. The film can be seen across all Mercedes-Benz digital channels and, for a limited time, at selected brand locations.
“The great thing about this project was that, at the beginning, we only had a blank sheet of paper. Mercedes and the agency gave us a great deal of creative freedom, allowing us to come up with this beautiful story, which we then brought to life with a very effective team,” says Hannes Höhn, producer at Black Corridor.
Together with director Meyberg, he founded the production company in 2020. The company, which is dedicated to combining advertising film with cinematic storytelling, produces not only campaigns but also documentaries and branded entertainment formats. Both founders continue to work on external projects as directors and producers respectively.
