MERCEDES-BENZ

COMMERCIAL
CAMPAIGN, CONCEPT & PRODUCTION
Since its market launch in 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has ranked among the world’s most iconic off-road vehicles. Originally developed as a rugged all-terrain vehicle, it has evolved over the decades from a purely functional utility vehicle into a luxury and lifestyle icon with true cult status. The new brand film, “The G-Class: One Love. Endless Adventures,” captures this enduring fascination across generations.
For the 112-second film, we deliberately chose a cinematic storytelling approach. Rather than putting the vehicle’s technology at the forefront through extensive off-road sequences, the film focuses on personal memories and the emotional connection between different protagonists and the G-Class, placing the vehicle at the heart of the community campaign. The story is framed around a father explaining to his daughter why this particular vehicle has been a companion throughout his life.
The film was developed and produced within just a few weeks. Director Nikolas Meyberg and Executive Producer Hannes Höhn jointly developed the idea and concept before bringing it to life over three days of shooting in Berlin and Brandenburg.
The vehicles featured in the film include a Mercedes-Benz G 450 d, the fully electric G 580, and a W463 Civil Cabrio 300 GD. The footage is complemented by historical archive material spanning several generations of the G-Class. The film is available across Mercedes-Benz’s digital channels and, for a limited time, at selected brand locations.
“What was great about this project was that, at the beginning, we really had a blank sheet of paper. Mercedes-Benz and the agency gave us a great deal of creative freedom, which allowed us to develop this beautiful story and then bring it to life with a highly effective team.”
