With the short documentary film project "QUIET DEPTHS," we made the decision to break free from our daily routine and embark on an entirely different venture.

By the end of 2021, without a detailed concept and lacking a central protagonist, we set out for the Arctic Circle. The ultimate destination was the Seglvik Peninsula, accessible only every few days by ferry, isolating us from the rest of the world and cutting us off in case of an emergency. We received unique support on-site from a local Orca expedition named "Valhalla Orca Expedition."

For a week, we ventured out every morning on small military boats, facing strong waves. Additionally, we filmed on land in extreme wind and freezing temperatures with our main protagonist. This proved to be the toughest test for both man and machine—in our case, our equipment.

Our stroke of luck came in the form of "Cindy Ogorzaly," our main protagonist. She has dedicated her life to the marine world, working as a nature photographer, expedition ship captain, and marine biologist. Her inspiring story emphasizes the crucial importance of preserving the natural world.

Given that Cindy worked as a skipper for Valhalla on-site, and daylight was limited to a maximum of 3-4 hours, we had only a few hours each day to shoot all scenes with Cindy and record interviews.

Our core team consisted of director Nikolas Meyberg, cinematographer Peter Kämpf, and executive producer Hannes Höhn. It was paramount for us to minimize the ecological footprint in a production primarily thriving on untouched nature and wildlife. Therefore, every effort was made to ensure sustainability from pre-production to post-production.
